About your coach

I am Lori - you personal and professional collegiate stress and anxiety management coach. I am a certified executive function coach and a certified life and wellness coach. Along with a background in mental health (MSW), I help college students and college bound students success freshman year and beyond. I am glad you are here.
"I was once the exact college student, with the exact struggles, that I now have the privledge of coaching."
The journey of choosing professional collegiate coaching as a career began in 2016 for me.
My background is in mental health (MSW) and I really like the idea of helping students identify their strengths, values, and passions and use them when facing challenges.
As I started paying attention to the trends on college campuses where my own two kids were in college, I knew there had to be other options for college students besides the (sometimes 3 months) waitlists at campus student wellness centers. Of course I recognize the value of traditional therapy and counseling, but not all students require therapy.
At this time, mental health struggles on college campuses in our country were at an all-time high. Suicide rates were rising. Students were struggling to self-manage in many areas of college life. Parents were asking for "other options" when their students were anxious, stressed, and overwhelmed.
As I built Students Stress Less Coaching LLC and started seeing first hand how deficits in certain life skills were the cause for (some) anxiety and depression, I noticed that when we focused on helping students practice and strengthen these skills, there was a direct improvement in self-confidence, mood, self-regulation, and academic success. started the task of developing a foundational program to teach certain life skills to my student clients.
Everything but Books - 8 Necessary Skills to SurTHRIVE Freshman Year of College, the proprietary coaching program was birthed in 2020.
With this guiding framework, I help college students assess and improve life skills in stress and anxiety management, executive functioning, and overall wellness cultivation and sustainment.
I have been honored to connect with hundreds of college students and high school students across the country since 2016. This is truly why I wake up every day - excited to help guide another student.
I currently have certifications in mental health first aid, mindfulness, trauma informed care, executive function coaching, and life and wellness coaching. I use components of all of these areas to support students as they live a balanced life of wellness, work, and fun on campus.
Outside of coaching, I am a mom, a wife, a sister, and daughter, a colleague, and a friend. I value fitness, nutrition, family, alone time, travel, nature, shopping, cooking, and writing (not reading).
